MilSim?

MilSim paintball seems to be very popular lately and it makes me wonder. Didn't our paintball forefathers try their hardest to disassociate paintball with war and the military? Yes, they did and now that leads to the question, why are we destroying all that hard work? Yeah you look like a Navy SEAL or Army Ranger or Recon Marine etc. but is it really worth making the sport seem more warlike to the uninformed masses? I mean look at these guns, the first is a milsim paintball gun:

Looks pretty damn close doesn't it? Too close if you ask me, if you're out showing it to your buddy because you think it's cool someone might think you have a real gun and call the cops on you. Not only that but if you're playing with a bunch of noobs that thing is gonna scare the crap out of them and that's not cool. MilSimmers take note what you're doing is destroying the hard work of paintballers before you and can make a new players first time scary enough as to make them not want to play. Think about that before you mod your gun to look like an M4 or AK47 or whatever it is.
